Every year the Pennsylvania AFL-CIO Education Committee holds a Scholarship Essay Contest for graduating high school seniors and post-secondary students from affiliated union families. This year's contest theme is the life and legacy of the late National AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka. We hope this contest introduces learners to the values of the labor movement and the importance of union solidarity.
This scholarship contest is open to any union member taking post-secondary credits (trade program/college credits) as well as anyone graduating from high school who has a family member in one of the PA AFL-CIO affiliated unions.
